Additional Fees:

Additional fees may include travel reimbursement if further than 20 miles out of Doula’s home base (Redlands, CA), reimbursement for any items bought for family (that is agreed upon)

Policies

  • In order to book me for your postpartum journey, a 50% nonrefundable deposit is due to block my schedule, along with a signed contract and completed intake form.

The remainder of the balance is due beginning of each week for my scheduled shifts until the full payment is made, and then I’ll complete the remainder of my paid hours.

  • In scope: Education/guidance, emotional support, light household tasks, breastfeeding and lactation support, family and sibling support, labor recovery support, light meal prep, grocery shopping/picking up prescriptions, nighttime or daytime shifts.

Out of Scope: Medical care, deep cleaning, childcare without parent(s) present.

I will have a list of referrals to connect you for guidance on anything out of scope!

    REMINDER: I am non-clinical, non-medical support

  • I know that births can vary, so please know that I will try to accommodate a block 2-week before your due date.

During that time I will be taking clients, but not at a full-time basis, and will communicate between all parties on scheduling and the changes that can happen.

Most clients are understanding of changes in schedule, but know that I will still fulfill my scheduled hours and do my best to schedule clients with full transparency.

For scheduling my weekly hours after birth, during our complimentary in-house meeting, I request my first week’s tentative schedule and what you expect as far as support.

My schedule the following weeks are agreed upon a week prior on Monday.

For example, Monday on Week 1, I expect to know my schedule for Week 2 that day. Then for my Week 3 schedule, I expect an agreed schedule the Monday of Week 2, and so on.

  • To best accommodate packages, my shift hours are as followed:

Daytime shifts are a minimum of 5 hours, and a maximum of 10.

Daytime shifts include: talking about any changes in baby’s routine, going over any newborn care, light tidying, watching your newborn as you nap, meal prep, entertaining your other kids, going to doctor’s visits with you, etc. Days vary based on your needs!

Nighttime shifts are a minimum of 8 hours, and maximum of 10 hours.

Nighttime shift hours should accommodate a 1-hour window prior to sleep, and an hour after you wake for us to talk about any changes or expectations, and for you to get ready and relax before you sleep/wake up.

Nighttime shifts can include: doing light tidying around the house while baby sleeps, baby laundry, meal prep for birth recovery, bringing baby in to breastfeed/help with pumping, changing/bathing, burping and soothing your baby back to sleep.

I will not be sleeping during my nighttime shift, and will remain awake so you can trust your baby is being cared for while you get much-needed rest!

I will keep track of your baby’s schedule and send you an emailed report in the morning of my night shift before I leave. If you need, I can also prep you breakfast before I go so you are ready for the day!

  • Cancellations:

Deposits are nonrefundable, regardless if you cancel my services. The deposit guarantees you on my schedule, so I don’t schedule another full-time client during your hours.

    Cancellation of scheduled shifts:

Scheduled shifts canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at 50% of the scheduled rate. More information on canceled shifts will be talked about in a consultation, and outlined in our contract.

  • Payment of that week’s hours is due the first day of work that week. A late fee of $50 is added on if payment is not received within 24 hours after the due date, and accrues for every day it is late.

For example: Week 1 I am scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Friday for a total of 30 hours, I will be compensated Monday morning when I come in for my shift for that week. Week 2’s pay will be the first working day of that week, and so on until the full payment of hours is finished. Once the payments are completed, I will work my remaining hours until the contract is complete.

Late Fee Example: Week 1 I am scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Friday for a total of 30 hours, I will be compensated Monday morning when I come in for my shift for that week. If I am not compensated by the end of Monday, a $50 late fee will be added to the total for every day after. If you don’t pay me until Friday, $50 for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be added to the total owed.

After the total balance of our package agreement is paid, remaining hours are paid by your 50% deposit given to me to secure you on my schedule. I will fulfill my remaining hours without a weekly payment, until all hours of the package/agreed hours are completed.
